Here, we turn dreams into stardom and audiences into fans. We are guided by three core values that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses: Curiosity: We do our best work when we’re immersing ourselves in culture and breaking through barriers. Curiosity is the driving force behind creativity and ingenuity. It fuels innovation, and innovation is the key to our future. Collaboration: Making music and bringing it to the world is all about the power of originality amplified by teamwork. A great idea, like a great song, travels globally. We ignite passions and build connections across our diverse community of artists, songwriters, partners, and fans. Commitment: We pursue excellence for our team and our talent. Everything in music starts with a leap into the unknown, and we’re committed to keeping the faith, acting with integrity, and delivering on our promises.

WMG is home to a wide range of artists, musicians, and songwriters that fuel our success. That is why we are committed to creating a work environment that actively values, appreciates, and respects everyone. We encourage applications from people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds – an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent.

A little bit about our team: The WMG Global Commercial Services team maximizes WMG revenue and market share, leading through best practices, platform expertise and forward thinking solutions that support our recorded music strategy. The content protection team is a group of global specialists who leverage technology, intellectual property law, and collaborative relationships with industry partners and third-party vendors to ensure music fans across the globe can experience and access WMG’s content the way our artists intend. We provide support to our label and territory partners with content protection, rights management, and optimization to ensure maximum revenue opportunities at our commercial digital partners.

Your role:

We are looking for someone who is eager to interact with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders to protect WMG’s content and who is motivated to help our artists maintain control over their release plans. This person is a leader and will help shape a world-class content protection team.

  • Work with a distributed team of internal collaborators and third-party partners to monitor and protect all forms of WMG's intellectual property. This includes audio, physical products, merchandise, and virtual properties.
  • Identify unauthorized uploads and pre-release leaks of WMG-controlled content on streaming services, social media platforms, and video-sharing sites across the Internet.
  • Manage the implementation of notice and takedown protocols according to US Copyright laws and other legal frameworks.
  • Liaise with WMG’s labels, global affiliate companies, and corporate departments to manage priority releases, maintain content protection guidelines, and stay current on platform policy frameworks and developments.
  • Develop and maintain internal SOP's, protocols for handling blocking issues, and workflow documentation for the detection, triage, and takedown of AI generated deepfakes and voice clones exploiting artist names, images, and likenesses.
  • Build and oversee the internal tool set and tracking systems, including logs, dashboards, and intake forms used to monitor AI activity, ensuring consistent documentation of sources, evidence, and resolution of outcomes across the team.
  • Track emerging AI content-generation platforms and tools being used to produce unauthorized content, flagging new abuse vectors to experienced colleagues.
  • Stay informed of new and emerging content protection, tools and vendor solutions entering the market, and coordinate the evaluation of their potential fit for the team's monitoring, detection, and takedown workflows.
About you:
  • Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects at one time.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with internet research and discovery tools.
  • Stay organized, on task, and self-motivated.
  • Encourage and motivate other team members.
  • Navigate music platforms, mobile app stores, and online marketplaces.
  • Think on your feet and work independently.
  • Provide periodic coverage for our global content protection inbox, including on a flexible/non-traditional work week as needed.
We’d love it if you also had:
  • Prior management experience.
  • Experience with database management and Google Analytics.
  • Familiarity with HTML, SQL, Python, and/or Java.
  • An understanding of generative Artificial Intelligence tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Comfort with Google Enterprise products (Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Forms) and Microsoft Office Services (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
Qualifications:
  • 3-4 years of experience in the Music industry or a related field, such as Film, TV, or Digital Media.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Outstanding presentation skills.
