Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Health is seeking a Manager, Regional Clinical Informatics to lead the collaborative implementation, support, and ongoing optimization of clinical informatics across acute, ambulatory, and post-acute settings.

In partnership with Directors, Nursing Informatics, and physician leaders, you will oversee staff performance and drive IS strategy, change management, and initiatives that improve patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, informatics, or related healthcare field or equivalent education/experience.
• 6 years of strong experience in clinical practice, clinical informatics and management with a demonstrated ability to manage and execute strategic plans for highly complex issues.
• 4 years of experience in clinical or IT functional management in comparable organizations, including financial and supervisory accountability.
• Preferred Master’s degree and certifications in informatics; Epic Certification upon hire.
• Experience in program and project management, including multiple project integration and process/workflow redesign.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Directors and Medical Informatics to implement and optimize clinical informatics and IS strategy.
• Oversee staff performance in informatics initiatives across care settings, emphasizing patient safety and efficiency.
• Lead Caring Reliably framework adoption and informatics initiatives with nursing and interdisciplinary teams.
• Represent information needs of clinicians and patients through change management and IT services.
• Coordinate with clinical and physician leaders on education, resource management, and governance.

Job description

As a member of the Providence St. Joseph Health Clinical Informatics management team, the Manager, Regional Clinical Informatics is responsible in collaboration with the Directors and Medical Informatics for the collaborative implementation, support, and on‑going optimization of clinical informatics, the Caring Reliably framework, IS strategy, and other organizational commitments. In partnership with the GVPs Clinical Nursing Informatics, CI Regional Directors, ministry Nurse Executives and other clinical and physician leaders, the Manager oversees staff performance in informatics initiatives with an emphasis on information technology and services that support nursing and interdisciplinary care partners in the areas of practice, clinical applications, clinical/administrative decision‑making, research and quality improvement initiatives, education, and resource management. The role integrates knowledge of patient care, informatics concepts and change management to represent the information and knowledge needs of healthcare professionals and patients, promoting safe, effective, and efficient use of information technology in clinical settings across acute, ambulatory, and post‑acute care settings.

• Informatics certifications or credentialing (may be equivalent for up to 2 years of experience at the hiring manager’s discretion) upon hire
• 3 years of experience in all areas of program and project management, including multiple project integration and process/workflow redesign
