Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Health is seeking a Manager, Regional Clinical Informatics in Anchorage to lead strategic clinical informatics initiatives and advance the Caring Reliably framework across acute, ambulatory, and post-acute care environments.

In collaboration with Directors and Nursing Informatics leaders, you will oversee staff, drive optimization of clinical applications and decision support, and partner with clinical and physician leaders to improve patient care through informed use of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, informatics, business administration, health care administration, public administration or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• 6 years of strong experience in clinical practice, clinical informatics and management with ability to manage and execute strategic plans for highly complex issues.
• 4 years of experience in clinical or IT functional management in comparable organizations, including financial and supervisory accountability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff performance in informatics initiatives with emphasis on IT and services supporting nursing and interdisciplinary care partners.
• Collaborate with Directors, Medical Informatics and Nursing Informatics leadership to implement and optimize informatics initiatives and IS strategy.
• Lead clinical applications, decision support, education, and resource management across care settings.

Education

Job description

As a member of the Providence St. Joseph Health Clinical Informatics management team, the Manager, Regional Clinical Informatics is responsible in collaboration with the Directors and Medical Informatics for the collaborative implementation, support, and on‑going optimization of clinical informatics, the Caring Reliably framework, IS strategy, and other organizational commitments. In partnership with the GVPs Clinical Nursing Informatics, CI Regional Directors, ministry Nurse Executives and other clinical and physician leaders, the Manager oversees staff performance in informatics initiatives with an emphasis on information technology and services that support nursing and interdisciplinary care partners in the areas of practice, clinical applications, clinical/administrative decision‑making, research and quality improvement initiatives, education, and resource management. The role integrates knowledge of patient care, informatics concepts and change management to represent the information and knowledge needs of healthcare professionals and patients, promoting safe, effective, and efficient use of information technology in clinical settings across acute, ambulatory, and post‑acute care settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Informatics, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Administration, or related healthcare field, or equivalent education/experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Informatics, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Public Administration or related healthcare field (or a degree in process)
• Certification in Informatics upon hire
• Epic Certification in one or more applications upon hire
• Informatics certifications or credentialing (may be equivalent for up to 2 years of experience at the hiring manager’s discretion) upon hire
• 3 years of experience in all areas of program and project management, including multiple project integration and process/workflow redesign
