Job summary

Joseph’s Classic Market is seeking a Catering Manager in Delray Beach, FL to lead catering inquiries, orders, and service from inquiry to delivery. You will coordinate with kitchen and other departments to ensure accurate, on-time fulfillment while managing a guest-focused team.

You’ll develop leadership, organizational, and guest service skills as you grow within a family-owned market, with opportunities to coach staff, manage calendars, and drive seasonal catering initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in catering, event management, or hospitality service
• Leadership and team development experience
• Proven ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills (Excel, email, ordering software)
• Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and evenings

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead contact for all catering inquiries and orders
• Communicate with guests to confirm catering menus, details, and pickup/delivery logistics
• Coordinate with kitchen, deli, and bakery departments for order preparation
• Ensure catering orders are accurate, well-presented, and fulfilled on time
• Maintain catering calendars, invoices, and order logs
• Assist in building seasonal catering menus and promotional packages
• Oversee the main phone line, ensuring calls are answered promptly and professionally
• Train staff to answer guest questions and take messages accurately
• Resolve guest issues, complaints, or refund requests quickly and professionally
• Manage special requests, product inquiries, and order pickups
• Serve as key contact for VIP guests and regular customers
• Support promotional events, tastings, and seasonal catering showcases
• Hire, train, and schedule staff involved in catering preparation and service
• Coach team on hospitality, communication, and professionalism
• Hold daily huddles to align team on priorities and service goals
• Monitor department attendance and ensure adherence to shifts
• Document and address attendance/punctuality with corrective action
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback
• Submit weekly catering reports and customer feedback to Store Manager
• Manage catering sales, deposits, and service fees
• Coordinate with department managers to ensure orders and service

Key Responsibilities

• Catering & Order Management

  • Serve as a key point of contact for VIP guests and regular customers
  • Support promotional events, tastings, and seasonal catering showcases
• Hire, train, and schedule staff involved in catering preparation and service
• Coach team on hospitality, communication, and professionalism
• Hold daily huddles to align team on priorities, specials, and service goals
• Monitor department attendance and ensure associates adhere to scheduled shifts and company timekeeping policies, addressing any attendance or punctuality concerns promptly and consistently
• Follow up on performance or attendance issues with proper documentation and corrective action when necessary, including disciplinary action forms, notes to file, and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) to support accountability and improvement within the department
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback
• Reporting & Communication
  • Submit weekly catering reports and customer feedback to Store Manager
  • Manage catering sales, deposits, and service fees
  • Communicate closely with all department managers to coordinate orders and service

Physical & Work Environment

This role is performed in a fast-paced catering, food preparation, and service environment and includes frequent guest interaction, as well as regular phone and email communication. The Catering Manager is expected to stand for extended periods and may occasionally lift or carry catering trays, boxes, or packaged orders. Flexibility is required to support varying order volumes and service demands.
