Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking an IT leader to manage application stewardship and a cross-functional team in Columbus. You will direct IT-area operations, coordinate with clinical and business leaders, and oversee vendor-delivered outcomes while improving process efficiency.

You will also drive innovation, ensure security and risk controls, and provide production support across multiple applications with on-call coverage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; field of study listed.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in IT or related roles.

Responsibilities

  • Manage outcomes delivered by third-party supplier vendors.
  • Own relationships with internal OhioHealth customers and service lines.
  • Develop tactical plans for multiple IT components/processes.
  • Drive innovation by challenging norms and leveraging technology.
  • Prioritize initiatives with clinical and business leaders.
  • Operate applications with routine maintenance and updates.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for assigned applications.
  • Maintain best practices and Balanced Scorecard results.
  • Facilitate deployment, education, activation, and production support
  • Manage personnel selection, development, evaluation, and scheduling.
  • Plan and monitor annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Administer information-security risk management and disaster recovery.

Job description

  • Report to the IT functional leader
  • Lead and direct people and processes within a defined IT area
  • Manage outcomes delivered by third-party supplier vendors
  • Own relationships with internal customers within OhioHealth business units and service lines
  • Manage daily operational activities and develop and implement tactical plans for multiple IT components/processes
  • Drive innovation by challenging existing norms and leveraging technology
  • Work with clinical and business leaders to prioritize initiatives aligned with OhioHealth and IS strategies
  • Operate assigned applications through routine software and hardware maintenance
  • Optimize applications through upgrades, patches, customizations, and management reporting
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for assigned applications
  • Organize people, processes, and technology to achieve application-management results
  • Maintain application-management best practices and measurable Balanced Scorecard results
  • Facilitate development of new applications through requirements definition, design, operational modeling, and support-staff coordination
  • Apply project-management and testing best practices
  • Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, vendors, infrastructure staff, and process excellence teams
  • Facilitate application deployment, education, activation, and production support
  • Manage personnel selection, development, evaluation, counseling, and scheduling

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent experience
  • Field of study: Computer Information Systems, Healthcare, Nursing, or related field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience
  • Ability to communicate complex information, concepts, or ideas in a confident and well-organized manner through verbal, written, and/or visual means
  • Ability to support a diverse, unpredictable, challenging, and fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Ability to coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders
