Responsibilities

  • Create vision and define direction for strategic business systems to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Research and develop new technologies supporting the College’s strategic initiatives.
  • Manage IT projects with campus-wide impact across the project lifecycle.
  • Establish test and implementation plans in accordance with standards and coordinate testing phases.
  • Oversee documentation of applications and revisions for compliance.
  • Lead, coordinate, and review work of Application Administration personnel.

Position Summary

The Manager of Application Administration is responsible forsoftware design, development, maintenance, and overall architectureof the institutional business systems. This position creates thevision and defines the direction required to ensure administrativesystems continue to meet the growing needs of the College. TheManager of Application Administration is responsible for researchand development of new technologies that will support College’sstrategic initiatives.

The potential minimum compensation for this position begins at$100,000.00 and is commensurate with education andexperience.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Create vision and define direction for the strategic approachto business systems in order to meet the needs of students,faculty, and staff
  • Responsible for research and development of new technologiesthat will support the College’s strategic initiatives
  • Manage Information Technology projects that have campus-wideimpact including all aspects of the project managementlifecycle
  • Establish test and implementation plans in accordance withestablished standards and coordinates all phases of testing fromunit testing to end-user acceptance testing
  • Analyze test results setting direction if errors are detected
    • Design and implement automated testing
  • Revise or direct the revision of existing applications orprograms to increase operating efficiency or adapt to newrequirements
  • Ensure systems are in place for the documentation ofapplications or programs and subsequent revisions
  • Develop policy for applications or programing standards, dataintegrity, user reports and software revisions
  • Prepare comprehensive project plans, budget, and project statusreports for management
  • Assign, coordinate, and review work of ApplicationAdministration department personnel
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; master’s degreepreferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional work experience in arelevant field required
  • Ability to scope requirements for new projects using formalmethodologies required
  • Experience with small, medium, and large projects, and theability to deliver the project on-time required
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, anddraw valid conclusions required
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technicalinstructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with severalabstract and concrete variables required
  • Knowledge of Accounting software; Contact Management systems;Database software; Design software; Development software; HumanResource systems; Internet software; Inventory software; Orderprocessing systems; Payroll systems; Project Management software;Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software required
  • Familiarity with business analysis, systems administrationpractices, network layout and protocols, security and firewalls,Internet protocols, object oriented programming methodologies,database design practices, and systems integration conceptsrequired
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Ability to identify process improvement suggestions, looks forways to improve and promote quality required
