Under the supervision of the Director of Ambulatory Services for the Faculty Practice Group, the Ambulatory Float Team Manager is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the Ambulatory Float Team. This team includes float RNs, LVNs, MAs, and administrative staff.
The Manager oversees the assignment and coordination of float staff coverage across UCLA Health ambulatory locations, ensuring timely sameday support on a rotating basis. The incumbent ensures all float staff maintain JCAHO compliance and meet the qualifications required to support clinics systemwide. The role also includes full oversight of Human Resources functions for float pool staff, including onboarding, compliance, and documentation.
The Float Pool Manager collaborates closely with clinic leaders to ensure float operations align with clinical and operational needs. Responsibilities include managing employee relations matters, fostering a positive work environment, and communicating health system and departmental updates in a timely manner. Regular travel to UCLA Health locations is required to provide onsite leadership and support to float team members. Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
