Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking an experienced leader to guide a blended onshore/offshore engineering team focused on Specialty Pharmacy Distribution applications. You will drive a strategic product roadmap, optimize integration between custom apps, SAP, and Manhattan WMS, and steer AI-driven enhancements to improve performance and delivery reliability.

The role requires a solid engineering background, strong collaboration with business leaders, and a track record of delivering compliant healthcare

Qualifications

8–12 years of experience, preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience leading and coordinating distributed (onshore/offshore) development teams and third-party contractors.
Prior technical background as a Software Engineer (e.g., Java) or Database Engineer strongly preferred.
Experience supporting Specialty Pharmacy Distribution, Healthcare Supply Chain, or enterprise integrations involving SAP and Manhattan (WMS) preferred.
Exposure to evaluating or implementing AI/ML-driven delivery enhancements or application capabilities is a plus.
Familiarity with healthcare data privacy, PHI, and HITRUST compliance standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage blended onshore and offshore engineering teams with contractors across time zones while maintaining accountability and delivery standards.
Partner with business leaders to build and execute a strategic roadmap for Specialty Pharmacy Distribution applications, prioritizing requests by business criticality, cost, capacity, and resources.
Drive post-implementation stability and continuous system enhancements, ensuring data flow between custom solutions and enterprise platforms (SAP with Manhattan WMS) and third-party SaaS platforms.
Validate architecture, evaluate effort and sizing estimates, address technical debt, and ensure scalable, reliable software.
Champion AI-driven solutions and automation to improve delivery cycles and application performance.
Embed an Agile mindset across teams, promoting incremental delivery and the smallest viable high-value units.
Coordinate handoffs and release management between Build and Run teams to minimize disruption and maintain availability.
Manage SaaS vendor relationships, contractors’ statements of work, and budget within the portfolio.
Ensure all development, data storage, and interfaces comply with healthcare regulatory and security standards.
