Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced AI and Automation Director to shape and lead the organization's AI strategy, aligning with business goals in Hawaii and a hybrid work model.

You will oversee end-to-end AI projects, mentor a diverse team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts, collaborate with IT, product, operations, and compliance, and champion ethical, privacy-conscious AI while steering budgets and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in relevant field.
• Five+ years managing AI/Automation/ML/data-science projects.
• Two+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms and data technologies.
• Deep understanding of NLP, CV, and predictive analytics.
• Familiarity with GDPR/CCPA and AI ethics.
• Strong data security and privacy knowledge.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Programming in Python/R and AI frameworks (TF/ PyTorch).

1. Develop and execute the organization's AI and automation strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
   
   • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects, from ideation and prototyping to deployment and maintenance.
   • Lead and mentor a team of AI and automation specialists, data scientists, engineers, and analysts.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, product, operations, and compliance to ensure successful project outcomes.
3. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
   
   • Establish and enforce best practices for AI model development, testing, validation, and deployment.
   • Ensure that all AI and automation solutions adhere to ethical guidelines, data privacy laws, and regulatory standards.

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience. in related field.
2. Five years of experience in managing AI, Automation, machine learning, or data science projects.
3. Two years of supervisory or management experience.
4. Experience with cloud platforms and data technologies.
5. Deep understanding of AI methodologies, including supervised and unsupervised learning, NLP, computer vision, and predictive analytics.
6. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ethical principles in AI development.
7. Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and ethical considerations in AI.
8. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
9. Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Agents, Studio, anthropic, ansible, UIpath) and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
