Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager in Minnesota to lead the AP function, drive accuracy, and ensure compliant processing of invoices and payments. You will supervise AP staff, manage end-to-end AP cycles, and partner with Procurement, GL, and Tax teams to optimize cash flow and controls.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years AP experience, strong IFRS knowledge, ERP expertise (SAP/Ariba), and excels in leadership and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years AP experience with 2+ years in supervision.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and internal controls.
• ERP/Accounting systems familiarity (SAP/Ariba) and Excel.
• CPA, CMA or Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with AP automation tools; AI/tools preferred.
• Experience in multi-entity/shared services environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate, timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Lead AP staff, set performance goals, conduct reviews, and allocate workload.
• Oversee end-to-end AP cycle from receipt to payment processing.
• Manage vendor master data and resolve escalated disputes.
• Develop and enforce controls to prevent duplicate payments, fraud, and errors.
• Prepare AP aging, accruals, and cash flow forecasts.
• Collaborate with Procurement, GL/Controller, and Internal Tax teams.

Job description

• Oversee the organization's accounts payable function and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of vendor invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements
• Supervise, train, and develop AP staff
• Set performance goals, conduct reviews, allocate workload, and ensure adequate coverage
• Oversee the end-to-end AP cycle, including invoice receipt, coding, approval routing, and payment processing
• Manage payment runs through checks, ACH, and wire transfers
• Review and approve invoices above delegated authority thresholds
• Oversee employee expense reimbursement processing
• Manage vendor master data and resolve escalated vendor disputes and inquiries
• Support vendor onboarding and compliance requirements
• Design and enforce controls to prevent duplicate payments, fraud, and errors
• Ensure compliance with company policy, tax regulations, 1099 reporting, audit requirements, IFRS, and applicable accounting standards
• Maintain segregation of duties and support internal and external audits
• Prepare AP aging reports, accrual schedules, and cash flow forecasts
• Resolve outstanding liabilities and monitor AP KPIs
• Analyze trends and recommend process improvements
• Manage AP software and ERP systems such as SAP/Ariba
• Lead OCR invoice capture, workflow automation, and other efficiency initiatives
• Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with IT and Finance on system upgrades and integrations
• Partner with Procurement, General Ledger/Controller, and Internal Tax teams
• Serve as point of escalation for vendor and internal stakeholder issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounts payable experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory/management role
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, AP best practices, and internal controls
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Excel
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• CPA, CMA, or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Experience with AP automation tools; usage of AI/tools is preferred
• Experience in a multi-entity or shared services environment preferred
