Job summary

KBW789 is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and accounting operations. This role will work closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial information.

The position focuses on close processes, external reporting, and maintaining U.S. GAAP compliance while enabling scalable policies for growth in a fast-paced biotech environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
  • 4–7+ years of relevant accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Public accounting or Big Four experience preferred.
  • Experience in a publicly traded company and with technical accounting research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with reconciliations and analyses.
  • Prepare and support external financial reporting and SEC filings.
  • Research accounting guidance and evaluate complex transactions.
  • Prepare technical accounting documentation and memoranda as needed.
  • Assist with disclosures, MD&A, and other reporting materials.
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, and evolving standards.
  • Support SOX internal controls development, documentation, and testing.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, HR, FP&A, Operations, and others to validate financial information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.

Job description

A growing Biotech company is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and accounting operations. This role will work closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial information.

Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of account reconciliations and financial statement fluctuation analyses.
  • Prepare and support external financial reporting and SEC filings, as applicable.
  • Research accounting guidance and evaluate the accounting treatment for complex or non-routine transactions.
  • Prepare technical accounting documentation and accounting memoranda as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of financial statement disclosures, footnotes, MD&A, and other reporting materials.
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, applicable SEC requirements, and evolving accounting standards.
  • Support the development, documentation, and enhancement of internal controls and SOX compliance processes.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, FP&A, Operations, and other business functions to obtain and validate financial information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting procedures, and internal controls.
  • Participate in financial systems implementations, process automation, and other finance transformation initiatives.
  • Help develop scalable accounting policies and procedures to support organizational growth.
