Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, Texas seeks a Manager of Utilities Engineering and Operations to lead the design, construction, and operation of sitewide utility systems supporting 24/7 manufacturing.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team, own end-to-end utility performance, drive capital projects, and implement maintenance programs while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and internal standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar required.
• 8+ years in utilities engineering/operations with industrial facilities.
• 4+ years direct people leadership in 24/7 environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel responsible for reliable sitewide utility operation.
• Own end-to-end performance of major utility systems (power, water, wastewater, natural gas).
• Drive strategic planning, capital projects, and ramp-up of utility infrastructure to match manufacturing schedules.
• Establish and improve preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and internal standards.
• Manage operating budgets, utility cost forecasting, and vendor contracts.
• Partner with manufacturing, environmental health & safety, and facilities teams to anticipate utility demands and support new lines.
• Lead RCA and corrective actions for utility incidents and drive lessons learned.
