Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of large-scale ultrapure water and wastewater facilities for Starlink. You will oversee cross-functional teams across process, civil, mechanical, electrical, and controls, collaborating with EPCs to meet aggressive timelines and budgets.

The role requires leading teams, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and continual improvement in a high-volume, industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM discipline.
• 8+ years of wastewater treatment design, construction, and operations.
• 2+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience in high-growth manufacturing environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of UPW and wastewater facilities from design through commissioning and operation.
• Support wastewater treatment for vertical integrated manufacturing lines (PV, PCB, packaging).
• Ensure compliance with ultra-pure water reuse goals and hazardous waste minimization.
• Develop specifications for advanced treatment processes (precipitation, membranes, AOP, solids handling).
• Lead cross-functional teams for ZLD systems (RO, evaporation, crystallization).
• Oversee multidisciplinary teams and EPC contractors to meet timelines and budget.
• Grow a high-output organization across Bastrop and beyond.
• Manage operations post-commissioning with predictive maintenance and SCADA/PLC.
• Ensure safety culture, HAZOPs, and risk assessments for hazardous waste.
• Interface with regulatory agencies, permitting, and audits.
