Description The Concession Assistant Supervisor assists in the operation of concessions at either the District Sports Complexes and/or Sholem Aquatic Center. Weekday evenings and weekend hours required.
Examples of Duties
- Supervise concessions activities and workers
- Ensure daily cleanliness, equipment cleanliness, and properly stored and correctly prepared food items.
- Assist in working with the Public Health Department to ensure that all concessions stands comply with existing health standards.
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating concessions staff.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of concessions stands.
- Assist in keeping records of food sales and daily deposits.
- Assist with general supervision of admissions.
- Report any problem/concerns to the Concession Supervisor immediately.
- Maintain good public relations with other agencies, Park District personnel, and the general public.
- Enforce and adhere to District policies and procedures.
- Complete all work as scheduled within the hours scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to plan, organize and manage concessions operations or experience in food sales.
- Ability to effectively communicate with the public and staff, and work harmoniously with the public and fellow employees in an enthusiastic and cooperative manner.
- Understanding of accounting for daily receipts and cash control policies.
- Previous food service experience.

- Must be able to resolve differences and problems that arise with patrons and employees.
- Must be able to work under stressful conditions when first aid treatment is required.

- Must be able to respond quickly and accurately.
- May be exposed to cleaning products.

- May work in extreme heat and high humidity.
- May work in cold and windy conditions at Sports Complexes.
Cognitive Considerations
- Must possess good safety awareness and judgment.
- Must have extensive knowledge of all Park District rules and regulations.
