Job summary

City-of-Deniso is seeking a Part-Time concession worker for city parks and events. The role supports concession operations, prepares the stand, serves patrons, handles payments, and maintains sanitation and cleanliness during shifts.

The position requires basic food safety knowledge, reliable attendance, and the ability to work evenings and weekends at various city events. High school diploma or GED and food handling permit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrives at scheduled time to prepare concession to be open on or before event begins.

• Handles food and drink in a sanitary fashion in compliance with Health Code.
• Processes payments and tenders change; ensures cash/payments are accounted for.
• Follows all sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and facility throughout shift.
• Cleans and maintains the concession area; restocks as needed.
• Works special events as needed.
• Accurately records time worked.

Job description

Performs concession and tournament work related to parks, recreational activities and special events.

The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competence and satisfactory performance of these duties. Other duties may be required and assigned.

1. Arrives at scheduled time to prepare concession to be open on or before event begins.
2. Provides friendly, pleasant service to patrons.
3. Accurately inventoriessupplyat open and close.
4. Takes orders and provides concessions upon request.
5. Handles food and drink in a sanitary fashion in compliance with Health Code.
6. Accurately processes payments and tenders change as needed. Ensures that all cash/payments are well-accounted for and stored properly.
7. Follows all sanitation and safety guidelines.
8. Prepares food as needed and directed.
9. Calls out complete orders to other staff and/or to customers.
10. Cleans and maintains the equipment and facility throughout shift.
11. Stocks additional supplies as needed.
12. Informs supervisor of needed supplies.
13. Performs duties in a safe manner and in compliance with policies, procedures, work and safety rules and the employee handbook.
14. Restocks, cleans equipment, sanitizes concession area, removes trash, sweeps at the end of shift.
15. Works special events as needed.
16. Accurately records time worked.
17. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

4. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
5. Ability to understand & follow simple oral and/or written instructions.

8. Ability to turn knobs, cook and prepare foods, operate a fryer and grill.
9. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have or be pursuing a high school diploma/GED
• Must be able to obtain a food handling and safety permit.
