Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Mammography Technologist for Mercy Lorain Hospital to perform all breast imaging and DEXA scans following ARRT/ACR/MQSA guidelines, under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting radiologists, ensuring patient safety, documenting history, and educating patients. Requires ARRT Mammography certification (preferred) with licensure and BLS. On-site role with strong quality-improvement involvement.

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration in Mammography (ARRT) preferred or must obtain within six months.
• State Licensure preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed.
• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique and consent.
• Correlates clinical history with procedure and documents information for licensed provider.
• Operates breast imaging equipment and selects exposure factors for quality images.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in department quality assessments and improvement plans.
