Job summary

Mercy Lorain Hospital is seeking a Registered Mammography Technologist to perform breast imaging and DEXA scans, following ARRT, ACR, and MQSA guidelines. You will assist the radiologist in invasive procedures and ensure proper patient history is documented for accurate interpretation.

Responsibilities include selecting technique exposure factors, adhering to radiation safety, and educating patients. Yearly duties cover safety, quality, and collaboration with the imaging team.

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration in Mammography (ARRT) preferred within six months of hire
• State licensure preferred unless required by the state
• BLS Basic Life Support – required

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures
• Assists radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique
• Conveys patient clinical history to licensed provider prior to examination
• Operates breast imaging equipment and exposure factors
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions
