Job summary

Mercy Lorain Hospital is seeking a Registered Mammography Technologist in Diagnostic Imaging to perform breast imaging including screening, diagnostic, invasive, and DEXA scans under ARRT/ACR/MQSA guidelines. You will support interpretation by the supervising physician and participate in quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities include performing all breast imaging, assisting in invasive procedures, ensuring patient safety, and educating patients.

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration in Mammography, ARRT (preferred upon hire or within six months)
• State Licensure (preferred)
• BLS Basic Life Support – required (American Heart Association)

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique and consent.
• Correlates clinical history with procedure and documents for the provider.
• Operates breast imaging equipment and devices to obtain quality images.
• Applies radiologic exposure factors for quality images.
• Ensures radiation protection to minimize exposure.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in department quality assessments and improvement plans.
