Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• Mammography experience preferred but not required.
• Stereotactic biopsy experience a plus.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with advanced certification in Mammography is required.
• Active ARRT certification status maintained with continuing education.
• Illinois State Licensure (IEMA) required.
• CPR Certification.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer-based applications, email and MS Office.
• Ability to perform daily tasks and duties of a mammography technologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner.
• Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure and document per standards.
• Prepare patient for procedures and provide instructions to obtain desired results and minimize anxiety.
• Select and operate breast imaging equipment and devices to achieve desired results.
• Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate area of interest and explain compression needs.
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Experience with stereotactic biopsies or willingness to be trained.
• Participate in staff meetings and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and physicians.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and confidentiality.
• Maintain supplies to ensure adequate levels within the department.
