Job summary

UChicago Medicine in Chicago, IL seeks a Mammography Technologist I in the Radiology Department to produce breast radiographs under a Radiologist's direction. The role emphasizes patient contact, communication, initiative and accuracy in a 100% onsite setting based in the greater Chicagoland area.

Compensation includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus. Primary duties include imaging, patient education, data collection, QA participation, and adherence to regulatory standards within the Breast Imaging unit.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program certification.
• ARRT radiology certification.
• ARRT Mammography certification (advanced).
• IEMA licensure.
• CPR Certification.
• 3+ years radiographer experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce breast radiographs under radiologist supervision and ensure proper protocol.
• Maintain patient education and confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
• Review physician orders, select exposure factors based on density and patient factors, and ensure diagnostic image quality.
• Assist in breast interventional procedures as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance procedures and document equipment malfunctions.
• Train and support new staff and student technologists.
• Maintain infection control standards and manage equipment and data input.
