Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• Mammography experience preferred but not required.
• Stereotactic biopsy experience a plus.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with advanced certification in Mammography is required.
• Illinois State Licensure (IEMA).
• CPR Certification.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer-based applications, email and Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of a mammography technologist duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography procedures following department protocols.
• Corroborate patient's clinical history and document per standards.
• Prepare patients for procedures and minimize anxiety.
• Explain breast compression and ensure patient comfort.
• Operate breast imaging equipment to achieve desired results.
• Position patient and equipment to image area of interest.
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Assist with stereotactic biopsies as trained.
• Participate in staff meetings and maintain professional relationships.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and confidentiality.
