Job summary

Advocate Health in Illinois is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a part-time position in the radiology department. The role includes positioning patients, operating mammographic equipment, and coordinating with radiologists to ensure high-quality images and timely patient flow.

The candidate must be AMA Radiology graduate with 1–2 years of general radiography or sonography experience and ARRT with CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
• 1 to 2 years experience as a General Radiographer or sonographer.
• 40 hours of specialized training and continuing education in mammography.
• Knowledge of breast anatomy.
• ARRT certification and CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Position patient and adjust equipment to perform procedures.
• Determine radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient condition.
• Obtain patient history for radiologist review.
• Help reduce wait times and ensure timely exams.
• Coordinate with registration to expedite patient flow.
• Schedule late or add-on patients when needed.
• Answer phones and schedule examinations when required.
• File and hang reports and take down films.
• Call patients back for additional views as needed.
