Job summary

Qualifications

• Understanding of positioning and technique factors as in Merrill’s Directory.
• Licensed by State to perform mammographic procedures.
• Must complete a program of formal training.
• Preferred 1 year Mammography experience with specialized training details.
• ARRT license or registry within 1 year of employment.
• Must complete training every 24 months.
• CPR certification is required.
• Must be knowledgeable in all areas of skills orientation.

Responsibilities

• Operate all mammographic equipment and adjust factors to optimize image quality at the lowest dose.
• Position patients, ensure protection and imaging quality, and review films with radiologists.
• Maintain equipment, report malfunctions, and ensure room safety and cleanliness.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and patient privacy in private exam areas.
• Bill exams accurately and document patient history and use of previous films.
• Provide comfort and clear instructions to patients before, during and after exams.
