Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Chicago seeks a Radiologic Technologist with mammography expertise to position patients, operate imaging equipment, and secure breast exams. You will ensure high-quality films for radiologists and maintain accurate patient records, while coordinating with registration to streamline throughput.

The role requires 1–2 years as a General Radiographer or sonographer, ARRT and CPR certifications, and AMA-accredited Radiology training.

Qualifications

Must be a graduate from an accredited AMA School of Radiology.
1 to 2 years experience as a General Radiographer or sonographer.
40 hours of specialized training and continuing education in mammography.
Knowledge of breast anatomy.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of HIS system and RIS system.
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact with customers from all levels.
ARRT certification and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Position patient and adjust equipment, secures, and immobilizes support devices as needed.
Determine radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient’s condition to obtain quality films for radiologists.
Maintain patient records and schedule examinations for smooth department operations.
Coordinate with radiology team to reduce wait times and ensure timely exams.
Prepare mammographic rooms and maintain equipment and supplies.
