Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in mammography to perform diagnostic and screening imaging as part of a dedicated breast imaging team.

The role requires coordination with radiologists, preparation of patients, and adherence to safety and quality standards during all imaging procedures. Experience with stereotactic biopsy support and access to routine X-ray exams is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration in Mammography, required.
• Minimum of 200 mammography exams performed within past 24 months, required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with Radiologist to confirm required exam details and ensure optimal image quality.
• Reviews and correlates patient's prior imaging reports to categorize procedure.
• Prepares patient for exam and explains procedures to relieve anxiety.
• Performs mammography exams according to established standards and adjusts equipment for correct exposure.
• Assists physician in mammographic image-guided interventional/special breast exams or procedures.
• Performs general x-ray exams including bone density exams as needed.
• Performs specimen imaging and handles specimens for pathology.
• Monitors patient condition and reports any adverse events to Radiologist/nurses.
• Ensures documentation is completed and images are properly labeled and transferred.
• Enters patient history into system and maintains equipment and supplies.
• Ensures cleanliness of procedure room and handles related duties.

Radiologic Technology program graduate

New York State DOH Radiologic Technologist license

ARRT Mammography certification

Minimum 200 mammography exams performed within past 24 months
