Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist to provide high-quality breast imaging services across our facilities in the Northeast. The role requires ARRT certification in radiography, mammography experience, and a strong focus on patient safety and communication.

You will perform screening and diagnostic mammography, ensure image quality, and adhere to ALARA principles while coordinating with radiologists and technologists.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
• Minimum of 1 year of Mammography experience (GE preferred)
• Desire ARRT Certification in Radiography; ARRT Certification in Mammography within 1 year of hire
• Maintains MQSA requirements (15 CE Mammo specific credits every 3 years)
• Possesses excellent knowledge of anatomy and physiology

Responsibilities

• Follow ALARA principles and perform scans with appropriate exposure and minimal repeats
• Identify patients correctly and introduce yourself to the patient
• Explain procedure and prep, answer questions, and follow up as needed
• Determine technical factors and perform positioning to obtain optimal images
• Review charge entry and complete exam documentation in ADS workflow
• Evaluate mammographic images for quality and perform post-processing
• Maintain equipment and QC records per ACR requirements
• Maintain infection control standards and clean work areas
