Job summary

The Mammography Technologist at UVA Health Community Health will prepare patients and operate mammography equipment to obtain diagnostic images, ensuring safety and comfort in a busy radiology setting.

Required ARRT certification in Radiography with Mammography or progression toward RT(R)(M); an Associate degree or equivalent is preferred. On-site work with a sign-on bonus and no obligation for on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiography required; Mammography RT(R)(M) within 12 months of hire preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; 2 Year/Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and operate mammographic equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort in the radiology department.
• Explain procedures and post-procedure orders to patients to gain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine quality control procedures.
• Collaborate with team and participate in staff meetings.
