Job summary

UPMC is seeking a radiology professional specializing in mammography to join our team in the United States. This position features a day shift with limited Saturday rotations and includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a two-year commitment.

You will perform mammography procedures with proper compression, positioning, and view variety, educate patients on breast self-exams, and ensure accurate coding and archiving within RIS/ISITE systems. Strong radioactive safety practices are required.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol; review history, assess orders, and document in electronic records.
• Maintain strong radioactive material safety practices.
• Perform mammography with correct compression, positioning and special views to maximize diagnostic quality.
• Prepare patients, ensure safety and comfort; communicate instructions clearly and explain procedures to ease fears.
• Code and track exams in RIS; network to ISITE for archiving/interpretation; enter charges.
• Assist invasive breast imaging: ultrasound-guided biopsy, clip placement, ductogram, wire localization, sentinel node procedures.
• Perform equipment quality control using radioactive sources and evaluate results.
• Demonstrate venipuncture technique and use of power injectors per department protocols.
• Administer PO and IV contrast per orders; assess risk factors before contrast administration.
