Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform breast imaging, ensure image quality, and support daily radiology operations. The role requires ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography, with BLS required.

One year of Breast Imaging experience is preferred; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus. The position involves independent judgment, teaching responsibilities for students, and adherence to ALARA and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a JRC Accredited Radiologic Technology Program recognized by ARRT.
• Current ARRT Radiography certification and ARRT Mammography (ARRT-M).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Perform breast imaging procedures and determine technique exposure factors.
• Maintain high accuracy in breast positioning and imaging parameters.
• Educate and mentor learners in the Radiology environment.
• Ensure ALARA principles are applied to minimize exposure.
