Position Details

Description

The Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging functions, including mammographic imaging, and assume QA/QC responsibilities. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, uses independent judgment, and can work with minimal supervision. Empathy in high-stress situations is essential.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate degree in Allied Health
• Completion of CAHEA-approved Radiologic Technology program

Licensure / Certification

• Registered by the ARRT(R)&(M)
• 15 CEC in mammography within three years
• Current BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Perform routine breast imaging with quality and patient comfort
• Maintain compliance with policies, including needle localizations, specimen imaging, call backs, and biopsies
• Demonstrate competence in advanced breast imaging techniques
• Conduct accreditation testing and report issues
• Participate in department meetings, training, and quality assurance programs
