Position Summary:

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, operates x-ray equipment to perform mammograms; completes paperwork.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in breast biopsy procedures, including needle localizations, stereotactic biopsies, and ductograms.
• Instructs and positions patients to obtain acceptable radiographs of diagnostic quality.
• Ensures the work area meets appropriate safety, equipment, supply, and cleanliness standards.
• Manually enters data to ensure proper preparation for dictation and billing.

Qualifications:

• ARRT, RT(M), or equivalent formal training as accepted under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
