Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our imaging team at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. This is a .8 FTE position that works the day shift, Monday through Friday, and involves obtaining high-quality mammography images and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Required ARRT(R) Upon Hire, ARRT(M) within 1 year, and Basic Life Support. Preference given to candidates with mammography experience and a strong commitment to patient education and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient care and safety throughout the imaging process.
• Performs mammography examinations with attention to image quality.
• Identifies relevant data from images accurately for clinical interpretation.
• Communicates pertinent data clearly to the health care team.
• Contributes to a culture of patient safety and emergency preparedness.
• Verifies patient identification and documentation prior to exams.
• Educates patients during all aspects of the exam and discusses findings as appropriate.
• Produces high-quality diagnostic images through proper positioning and technical factors.
• Completes scheduling, billing, and file transfers accurately and timely.
• Mentors new staff and participates in department quality improvement initiatives.

Job Overview

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our imaging team at our Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN! This is a .8 FTE (64 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work on the day shift, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient care
• Performs examinations
• Identifies relevant data from images accurately.
• Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
• Participates in creating a culture of patient safety
• Knowledge of emergency preparedness for facility
• Verify patient identification and documentation
• Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
• Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
• Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes, and file jacket transfers in a timely fashion
• Accurate film identification and jacket preparation or digital image manipulation and archiving
• Participates as an active team member
• Orients and mentors new employees and students
• Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
• Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs.
• Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.
• Provides patient education based on an assessment of learning needs of patient/care-giver

Required Qualifications

• A.R.R.T. (R) Upon Hire
• A.R.R.T. (M) within 1 Year
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year in mammography
