Fairview Health Services in Burnsville, MN seeks an MRI Technologist to join the imaging team at Ridges Hospital. This casual, as-needed role requires picking up a minimum of 1 shift per month and 1-2 holidays per year.

Responsibilities include producing high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring patient safety, operating equipment, and assisting with training. Shifts include day, evening, night, and weekends with additional differential pay for evening or night shifts.

Qualifications

• ARRT Certification required.
• Basic Life Support (AHA or Red Cross) required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• MRI Safety Screen requirements must be met.
• MRI Certification within 1-1/2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient care.
• Performs examinations.
• Identifies relevant data from images accurately.
• Communicates data clearly to health care professionals.
• Ensures patient safety and emergency preparedness.
• Documents patient information.
• Ensures proper film identification on all images.
• Completes computer functions and status changes.
• Marks films and prepares jackets.
• Achieves quality diagnostic images via proper positioning and equipment operation.
• Performs training and education duties.
• Participates in orientation of new employees.
• Trains students and health care professionals.
• Maintains and correctly operates equipment.
• Optimizes equipment use and understands imagery significance.

Job Overview

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an MRI Technologist to join our imaging team at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN! This is a casual position that will work as needed by the department. There are currently day/evening/night/weekend shifts available to pick up. Must pick up a minimum of 1 shift per month and 1-2 holidays per year.

• If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3pm - 11pm, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials.
• If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 11pm - 7am, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $8.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials.

The MRI Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians by creating patient specific diagnostic images. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the training of students
• Participates in the training of health care professionals and new employees.
• Maintains equipment
• Correctly operates equipment
• Optimizes use of equipment
• Understands the structure visualized and its significance

Required Qualifications

• ARRT Certification
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of experience
• Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
• MRI Certification within 1-1/2 Yrs
