Job summary

Urban Health Plan seeks a Mammography Technologist to perform diagnostic and screening mammograms at our Bronx flagship site El Nuevo San Juan, under the Radiology Administrator. The ideal candidate holds ARRT Mammography Certification and NYS licensure, with 2+ years of mammography experience and Spanish/English proficiency.

Onsite, full-time position offering comprehensive benefits and a 60–64 USD hourly starting wage, with standard hours Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• ARRT Mammography Certification required.
• NYS DOH Radiology Technician License required.
• Knowledge of Digital 3-D and Quality Control highly desired.
• Completion of 2 years from Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• 2+ years minimum of related experience with mammograms (screening and diagnostic).
• Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about the exam and promote privacy and comfort.
• Perform diagnostic or screening mammography as ordered and document results.
• Act as lead for the division in training other Mammography Technologists.
• Produce high-quality films for radiologist evaluation with attention to detail.
• Perform quality control functions related to mammography.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Radiology Administrator, the Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic and screening mammograms at our Bronx- Based flagship site El Nuevo San Juan.

Minimum Qualifications

• ARRT Mammography Certification
• NYS DOH Radiology Technician License
• Knowledge of Digital 3-D and Quality Control highly desired.
• Completion of 2 years from Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• 2+ years minimum of related experience with mammograms (both screening and diagnostic)
• Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired.

Responsibilities Include

• Complete patient education regarding the exam, promote patient privacy and comfort.
• Perform diagnostic or screening mammography as ordered. Completes appropriate documentation.
• Acts as lead for the division in supporting training of other Mammo Techs.
• Produce high quality films for the radiologist to evaluation, pays attention to detail.
• Performs quality control functions related to mammography.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique.
• Serves as primary liaison between patients, Radiologists and other members of the support team.
• Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence.
• Perform all duties using proper body mechanics, including manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.

Starting Compensation

Minimum $60.00 per hour; Maximum $64.00 per hour contingent on established years of experience practicing with ARRT(M) Licensure.

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule

Onsite, Bronx, NY; Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
