Job summary

Parkland Health seeks a Mammography Patient Navigator to guide patients through the breast imaging journey, coordinating care from screening to diagnosis and beyond. The role focuses on patient-centered support, education, and liaison with physicians, staff, and community resources.

Responsibilities include scheduling, follow-up, documentation in EPIC, and addressing socioeconomic barriers to care with a strong emphasis on timely, quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduates of accredited imaging programs; MRT license in TX required/preferred certifications as listed.
• Must have four years in Breast Imaging operations with related workflow knowledge.
• Certification in Mammography (M), MRI (MR), Nuclear Medicine (N) or ARRT Breast Imaging credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule biopsies and follow-up imaging as requested.
• Contact patients lost to follow-up for rescheduling.
• Educate patients about imaging plans and results.
• Coordinate with Mobile Coordinator to ensure timely follow-up imaging.
• Review pathology results in EPIC and communicate with radiologist and navigators.
• Assess financial/medical status and identify barriers to care.
• Develop and communicate plan of care; coordinate appointments and documentation.
