Job summary

Solis Mammography in Fort Worth, TX is hiring a Mammographer/Sonographer Technologist for full-time daytime shifts. You will independently operate mammography and breast sonography equipment, ensuring high-quality images, patient comfort, and clear communication with clinicians.

Requirements include ARRT Radiography, ARRT Mammography, and ARRT Breast Sonography certifications, plus advanced sonography training. MQSA/continuing education compliance and non-restricted Texas licensure are expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal radiologic technology training program and ARRT Radiography certification.
• Advanced breast sonography training via Solis University or equivalent prior to hire.
• ARRT Mammography (advanced) certification with clinical experience or MQSA qualified.
• ARRT Breast Sonography (BS) advanced level certification.
• Must meet minimum exam frequency for dual mammo/sono role and annual assessment.
• Active continuing education per MQSA and ARRT.
• High School Diploma; Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide mammography and breast ultrasound services with high image quality and patient comfort.
• Perform dual mammo/sono exams per organizational thresholds.
• Explain procedures to patients to maximize cooperation and comfort.
• Maintain and calibrate mammography and ultrasound equipment; perform QC as required.
• Collaborate with radiologists and center staff; communicate effectively with doctors and patients.
• Chaperone and assist radiologist during exams as appropriate.
• Follow Solis Way and ensure patient-first care in every interaction.

Work Hours:

Full-Time, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

The Mammo Sono Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of mammography and sonography equipment to create necessary images for imaging procedures with a high degree of accuracy in positioning and image quality techniques, employing effective patient and clinician communication.

Here is what you will need:

• Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current
  certification by ARRT in Radiography
• Completion of advanced level didactic and clinical training in breast sonography either
  through Solis University or a qualifying external program prior to hire.
• ARRT advanced level certification in mammography with documentation of clinical
  experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible.
• ARRT advanced level certification in breast sonography (BS).
• Technologists must also meet organizationally defined minimum exam frequency
  requirements for both modalities to qualify for dual mammo/sono role and is assessed
  annually. Dual certification alone is insufficient for qualification.
• Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by
  MQSA and ARRT.
• High School Diploma; Associate degree preferred.
• Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location as required.
• Two years of experience in mammography is preferred.

A Day in the Life of a Mammographer/Sonographer Technologist:

• Provide services and support for the following areas:
  • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way.
  • Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure techniques.
  • Produces high quality breast ultrasound images and obtains appropriate measurements
    according to ACR guidelines.
  • Performs mammography and breast sonography exams at organizationally defined minimum
    exam frequency thresholds for dual role.
  • Explains procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation.
  • Maintains mammography and ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensures proper
    equipment maintenance and equipment safety.
  • Performs Quality Control tests/maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with Radiologists and other Center staff members
  • Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors,
    patients, and other employees.
  • Appropriate monitoring during all phases of procedure with special care taken to ensure
    patient emotional and physical well-being
  • Maintains patient-first focus and exhibits outstanding customer service skills
  • Assist and/or chaperones radiologist when performing ultrasound/mammographic exams
    and/or procedures as appropriate.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes
    complicated, written or oral instructions.
