Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast imaging and assist in diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. You will operate mammographic equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality images.

The role requires ARRT licensure in radiography and mammography, BCLS certification, and completion of an AMA/JRCERT-accredited program. PRN status with a Monday–Friday schedule is offered with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program is required.
• No experience required; 1 year experience as a Mammography Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes.
• Demonstrates competence in performing all required exams and positioning.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and retrieves additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provides customer service/support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records and files as required by regulations.
• Position patients across age groups for radiological exams as requested.

Responsibilities:

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
