Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking a Mammography Technologist for a true PRN position in the outpatient Women’s Center. Monday–Friday schedule; on-site role focused on breast imaging with state-of-the-art equipment.

Responsibilities include performing screening and diagnostic mammography, ensuring image quality, and maintaining patient records. ARRT credentials and BCLS are required; experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required; 1 year experience as Mammography Technologist preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: ARRT Radiography, ARRT Mammography, BCLS; required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes on additional information.
• Demonstrates competence in positioning, protocol selection and equipment use.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and requests additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by proper labeling and procedures.
• Provides customer service and support to patients.
• Maintains all required records, reports and files per federal, state and regulatory agencies.
• Positions patients of all ages and uses appropriate imaging techniques.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
