Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Smyrna, GA is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast imaging, position patients, and operate mammography equipment to support accurate diagnoses. This role emphasizes quality imaging and compassionate patient care.

You will join a collaborative radiology team, maintain records, adhere to safety and regulatory standards, and participate in ongoing professional growth. ARRT certification and BLS are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required; 1 year of Mammography experience preferred.
• ARRT Radiography certification and Mammography credentialing required upon hire; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes additional details.
• Positioning patients and equipment, selecting protocol, and ensuring imaging accuracy.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and requests additional images as needed.
• Maintains records, reports and files per regulatory requirements.
• Provides patient service and support throughout the imaging process.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
