Qualifications

• No experience required; 1 year experience as a Mammography Technologist preferred.
• AR R T Radiographer and Mammography certifications required Upon Hire; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized mammography procedures and reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information.
• Position patient and equipment, select protocol and technique; ensure imaging equipment is used correctly.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
• Label images correctly and maintain accurate records as required by regulatory agencies.
• Provide customer service/support to the patient population.

Responsibilities:

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
