Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast imaging and support accurate diagnosis.

You will operate mammographic equipment, position patients, select protocols, and ensure image quality. The role emphasizes patient service, regulatory compliance, and accurate record-keeping.

Experience is not required; a radiologic technology program and ARRT/BLS are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required; 1 year experience as Mammography Technologist preferred.
• ARDMS or ARRT - Radiography (R) - ARRT Upon Hire Required and ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography (M) - ARRT Upon Hire Required and
• BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes on all additional information.
• Demonstrates competence in positioning, selecting protocol and utilizing imaging equipment.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and obtains additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provides Customer Service/Support to patients.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files per Federal, State and other regulations.

Responsibilities:

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program Required

Work Experience

• No experience required
• 1 year experience as a Mammography Technologist Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (R) - ARRT Upon Hire Required and
