Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast imaging procedures and support patient care in a fast-paced environment. You will operate mammographic radiographic equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality images under established protocols.

The role requires an AMA/JRCERT-accredited radiologic program and BLS certification on hire, with preference for 1 year of prior Mammography experience.

Qualifications

• AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited training is required.
• BLS - Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes additional information.
• Positions patient and equipment following protocol and selects correct technique.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and obtains additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provides customer service/support to patient population.
• Maintains records, reports and files as required by regulatory agencies.
• Competent to position and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program Required

Work Experience

• 1 year experience as a Mammography Technologist Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (R) - ARRT Upon Hire Required and
• (M) ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography (M) - ARRT Upon Hire Required and
• BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
