Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform diagnostic breast imaging and ensure quality standards. You will operate mammographic equipment, position patients, and select procedures with attention to protocol and accuracy.

Requirements include AMA/JRCERT approved radiologic training, ARRT radiography and mammography registrations, and BLS certification. No experience is required; 1 year in mammography preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training.
• No experience required; 1 year Mammography Technologist experience preferred.
• ARRT Radiography registration required at hire.
• ARRT Mammography certification required at hire.
• BLS certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional information.
• Positions patient and equipment, selects protocol and uses required imaging equipment.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and obtains additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provides customer service/support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

• BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
