Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia seeks a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast imaging, ensure diagnostic quality, and support patients throughout the exam process. The role involves operating mammographic equipment, following protocols, and maintaining accurate records.

The candidate should have ARRT radiography and mammography certifications, AMA/JRCERT training, and BLS. Prior mammography experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required; 1 year of Mammography experience preferred.
• ARRT Radiography and Mammography certifications required upon hire.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions and notes pertinent information.
• Positioning patients and equipment, selecting protocol and techniques.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
• Label images correctly and maintain accurate records.
• Provide customer service and support to patients.
• Maintain records and files per federal, state and other regulatory agencies.
• Position patients of all ages for radiological exams as required.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
