Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast imaging studies and support ongoing patient care. Responsibilities include operating mammographic equipment, selecting protocols, and ensuring high-quality images for diagnosis.

Applicants should have an AMA/JRCERT radiologic technology education, ARRT credentials in Radiography and Mammography, and BLS certification. Prior mammography experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• ARRT - Radiography registration required (R).
• ARRT - Mammography registration required (M).
• BLS - Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes additional details.
• Positioning patients and equipment, selecting protocol, and using required equipment.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and requests additional images if needed.
• Ensures accuracy of exams by following procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provides customer service and support to patients.
• Maintains records and files as required by regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
