Job summary

Fortis Life Sciences, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented cell culture technician to support production and R&D in mammalian systems. You will maintain cell lines, perform transient transfections for antibody and protein expression, and help manage a large in-house cell bank. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities include routine mycoplasma testing, maintaining reagents, preparing media, and assisting with equipment maintenance while adhering to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field is required or highly preferred.
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture experience is highly desired.
• Experience with recombinant protein expression in mammalian, insect, or bacterial systems is desirable.
• Experience with protein characterization methods such as protein assays, SDS-PAGE, and Western blot is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cell lines and perform transient transfections for recombinant expression of antibodies and other proteins.
• Help maintain in-house cell bank of 125+ mammalian cell lines; provide cells for IHC, flow cytometry, and lysates.
• Carry out routine mycoplasma testing.
• Maintain lab supplies and specific reagent inventory to enable efficient workflows.
• Perform general lab tasks (diswashing, media prep) and assist with equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with staff and follow company policies and safety rules.
• Support quality management principles and participate in safety compliance.
