Job summary

Until is building a moonshot biology platform and seeks a meticulous Lab Technician to support recombinant protein production and media preparation within the Molecular Development team. You will express and purify proteins in bacterial and yeast systems, perform routine QC analyses, and keep precise batch records.

The role includes training in mammalian cell handling and maintenance, ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, adheres to protocols, and takes pride in reproducible results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience (2+ years) from research, internships, or industry.
• Experience with molecular biology and protein purification.
• Familiarity with SDS‑PAGE, protein assays, accurate pipetting, solution prep, and calculations.
• Aseptic technique, safety, and contamination control.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Express recombinant proteins in E. coli and yeast using established protocols.
• Purify proteins using affinity chromatography, concentration, and buffer exchange.
• Assess protein concentration, yield, and purity using SDS‑PAGE and assays.
• Prepare and replenish culture media, buffers, stock solutions, and reagents with precise weighing and pH adjustment.
• After training, handle mammalian cells: thawing, media changes, passaging, counting, viability, and cryopreservation.
• Monitor cell morphology, confluency, and culture health; report deviations promptly.
• Label, store, and track proteins, reagents, and cell stocks with clear records.
