Job summary

Buff City Soap is seeking a Store Manager in Waukee, IA to lead daily makery operations and deliver an exceptional Buff City Experience for clients.

The role emphasizes staff coaching, scheduling, inventory control, and maintaining brand standards while driving sales and customer satisfaction. Candidates should have management or sales experience, and basic computer skills; college preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• College education preferred, but not required.
• Management and/or Sales experience required.
• Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple situations simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
• Strong problem solving and organizational/planning skills.
• Strong leaderships skills, with the ability to coach and mentor while having knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
• Team building skills
• Ability to prioritize and delegate.

Responsibilities

• Developing and coaching employees to provide amazing client experiences.
• Following up swiftly on client concerns and issues.
• Consistently sets a positive example and demonstrates a calm demeanor during periods of high volume.
• Displays a client comes first attitude by holding team members accountable for quality client service.
• Drives company metrics by developing action plans and instructing the makery team.
• Manages with integrity and promotes Buff City Soap culture, values, and mission.
• Plans, communicates, and delegates responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage and track stock of raw materials, finished products, and supplies.
• Maintains store conditions and visual merchandising per Buff City standards.
• Oversee production, cleanliness, maintenance, sanitation, and makery organization.
• Manage makery staffing levels to support development and operations.
• Adherence to wage and hour laws for non-exempt staff and minors.
• Use tools to plan operations, including labor guidelines, reports, cash management and inventory.
• Use financial reports to identify trends and address issues in makery performance.
• Conduct performance assessments and set goals to improve sales performance.
• Manage ongoing sales and bank visits as needed.
• Salaried staff: 40 hours/week over 5 days; Hourly staff: 32 hours/week over 4 days.
