Job summary

Carroll County Public Library's Exploration Commons in Westminster, MD seeks staff to engage customers in the Makerspace and Teaching Kitchen and assist with their general needs. You will help implement instructional programming for EC and Teaching Kitchen and perform clerical duties as needed.

Responsibilities include delivering exceptional customer service, assisting with program prep and wrap-up, operating AV equipment, creating content to showcase resources, and participating in library

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Food Handler certification within 6 months of employment.
• Experience in customer service or retail and ability to operate makerspace and kitchen equipment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Delivers exceptional customer service and assists customers with EC-related questions.
• Assists in preparation and wrap-up of EC and Teaching Kitchen programs; may conduct programming.
• Operates audiovisual equipment in EC meeting rooms and supports content creation.
• Maintains professional growth through library teams, committees, and training activities.
• Communicates library policies and procedures to customers; performs other duties as assigned.
