Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
• To work in a Title I-funded school, 48 college credit hours or a passing score on a paraprofessional assessment issued by ETS or NES required.
• Previous library/media center experience preferred.
• Aptitude for reference work and basic Dewey Decimal knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Ability to communicate with diverse populations.
• Proficiency with online library management systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains organization of the media center and shelves materials.
• Assists in researching and locating print and non-print media for lessons.
• Supports use of online databases and digital resources.
• Manages circulation desk and prepares notices and reports.
• Trains and supervises student or parent volunteers.
• Assists in displaying library displays and learning centers.
• Performs circulation activities and processes new materials.
